English's Limerick to Australia
« on: Sunday 15 March 09 00:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi all researching English's who came to Australia possibly late 1800's don't know if they were assisted/unassisted
John English     dob  27.1.1853
William              dob  26.4.1854
Thomas             dob 15.5.1856(? register not to clear re name)
Mary                  dob 03.12.1858

I have been contacted from a  family branch in Ireland on their grandmothers side she was a sister of the above my husband is related to John English... according to the family folklore (ireland) ....They travelled to Australia with a neighbour whose  own daughter returned to Ireland for a holiday and stated that the English's were living in the Blue mountains area John married in Melbourne .... we had no idea there were other family members
two other siblings that may have come to Australia were Zachery  dob 1.10.1843 and Catherine dob 4.4.1845
it appears that their father had been married about 3 times and had fathered 21 children  his name was Michael English and they all hailed from Doon Co. Limerick thanks nenny4

I have the details of John's marriage to Sarah Ann Sault it's really the info on the other siblings that the Dublin Ire. connection is searching for.   father Michael English  mother Bridget Hickey..whereas the mother of Zachery and Catherine may have been Hanora Breen .....

Hi

Do you know the name of the third wife?  I have a Ellen Grace English in our tree, born in Limerick with parents Michael English and Mary Walsh.  She was married in Sydney in 1885 and living in Melbourne by 1886.  Not sure exactly when she came to Australia.

I know she's not listed above - but I thought I would check if she is part of this family.
