Hi Jane - found your post on search - I have info on the
Power family. Philip, a costguard, married Jane in Dymchurch, moved to Sholden in 1851 and in 1861 can be found in Minster Sheppy. Retired, in 1881 he is found with his son Walter (m Mary Marshall)  my great great grandparents.  Philip's youngest son Philip died in the county lunatic asylum, daughter Mary J married John Griffiths, son Thomas  I can find no trace. Henry Phillip Byrant married Caroline Harrington.  Can provide further info on the decendents if you wish. How are you related ? Nick K ;D

Hello Nick,
Phillip the coastguard is my husbands grx3 grandfather.

I would love to know about his other children and where they were born. Just to show where he travelled. His son Henry (harry) phillip pyatt (or byatt) Power was born in Allhallows 1848, and he married Caroline Harrington b 1853 in Chatham. They are both buried in Gillingham Cemetry down Woodlands rd.

I have Phillip recorded on 1881 census with Henry (head  hammerman dockyard)and Caroline living at 76 Alma St, Minster with their 3 daughters. He is listed as a greenwich pensioner(navy). Perhaps a double entry!! ( is yours 5 Alma Terrace)

Any details on him, his father, children etc would be gratefully received.

thjanks
Jane
ps I'm only round the corner in Rainham

Then retired coastguard (greenwich penshioner). The STEELE, KIMBER & COLEMAN families are large (and now geographically diverse!)

If you wish to send private message with e-mail address please do and I will send family tree extracts - think I can do GEDCOM - otherwise have narrative.

Hopefully others may find names from those listed above -
Please let me know where your family fit in - I assume from Henry Phillip Byrant's side of the family? Great to hear from another branch - goes to show they are not just all old names - but someone else's family! Nick Kimber
