I must apologise for not replying, you have all done a ton of research on this which is appreciated.
J.J- You do have the correct family. Rosa was born Olive Rosa but known as Rosa. I haven't actually seen the marriage certificate for Charles and Mary Hannah but I was told his father was Charles Thomas Thompson occupation Farmer. Whether he was less than truthful on the marriage certificate has been a source of conjecture for us as well! but we are taking it as true.
In 1911, Charles and Mary Hannah were living in Birkenhead, Charles occupation was as a labourer for an oil manufacturer, his birth place was Montreal or Monheal Canada. He died suddenly in 1918.
There is a suggestion of a name change but my own personal opinion is that the Thompson was mis-spelled or his name was William Charles Thompson or something along those lines.
I am waiting for further details from my cousin but that could take a couple of weeks.
