Francis VASEY- Wickepin WA

Hi

I don't suppose that anyone is in the Wickepin area or has a contact therre?

I am researching Francis Vasey who went to Australia from England and worked on a farm in the Wickepin area. He fought in the Great War in the Australian army and was KIA at Pozieres, during the Battle of the Somme. I would to know if there is a war memorial in Wickepin and if so, is Francis remembered on it.

Yes, thats him. I've seen his records and got a fair bit of info on him from this side. I just can't find out if he is remembered in Wickepin, I've tried emailing the local papers etc but have never got a reply.

Have you emailed the Wickepin Shire on admin[at]wickepin.wa.gov.au            replace [at] with @
In the year 07/08 they received a grant of $2400 to be used for RSL and/or
ANZAC purposes. Don't know if Wickepin has a RSL Sub-Branch.

My anti-virus program wont allow me access to RSL Headquarters website.
Says they have a virus.
