**COMPLETED** Which RA regiment was he in?
« on: Saturday 28 March 09 16:02 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I am just starting to go through my grandfathers WW2 Sevice records, and I need a bit of help to find which regiment he served with in France before being evacuated from Dunkirk

His attestation papers of 1935 show that he was to serve in the 57th HC Fd Bde RA TA and was posted to the 225th Fd Bty RA (TA). The signature at the end says that this was the 225th (Sx) Bty RA, a Sussex battery which I would expect as he was born in Brighton. His service records also show that he was still attached to the 225th through its campaign in France.

I am trying to see where he went and what he did in France, but the sites I can find only seem to list Regimental movements, not individual Batteries, and I can't work out which Regiment the 225th would have been part of.

Any help would be most gratefully recieved. It will all add to his war story.

Glen

Fd Bde...Field Brigade....
One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.
