Hi,

I'm sorry but I can't help you trace John WEEKS b.1778 backwards as I have no idea of where he was born :( but I will trace his children forward for you :)

First Henry b.1805, St.Clements Danes, Middlesex

I can't find a marriage for Henry and Sophia, it looks like they are already together by the 1841 census, I also can't find any christenings for any children for them. I think you will need to contact Berkshire record office or Berkshire FHS or hopefully someone local to the area will be able to look them up for you.

Hello again :)

This is the best I can find for John WEEKS abt.1800, Totnes, Devon, and you did mention a son John and St Pancras :)

1881 with his brother in previous post.

Death
John WEEKS    age: 83    Jun Q 1883    Wokingham    2c  251

Now if John WEEKS b.1800 Devon is the son of John WEEKS b.1778 then he was born before John WEEKS Snr's marriage to Rebecca WINKWORTH.

In 1861 John WEEKS Jnr gives his birthplace as Bridgetown, Devon. Bridgetown was in Berry Pomeroy township/parish,

http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/BerryPomeroy/

I found this marriage and christening,

John WEEKS
Susanna GREGORY
Marriage:  02 JAN 1799   Berry Pomeroy, Devon

John WEEKS
Christening:  23 JUN 1799   Berry Pomeroy, Devon
Father:  John WEEKS
Mother:  Susanna

For this to be correct then Susanna WEEKS (nee GREGORY) must have died before the 1803 marriage, but where and when :-\

Ok enough for today my eyes are starting to cross :D

Thanks so much Daisy, I cannot believe what you have unearthed!  I am truly amazed.  If you need help at any stage please dont hesitate to ask, I'm in Dorset, although its a bit tricky for me to go to Record office as this is in Dorchester, however if anyone wants photos etc....

Hi,

Thanks for the offer of help :)

I might take you up on it at a later date as I have a 3x Great Grandfather from Piddletrenthide, Dorset. I'm working on a different part of the family right now but when get round to him I might ask you for some 'local' knowledge :)
