Thank You, It is much appreciated but I will leave it to  my younger cousins to do that as I have really finished my own research and do not want the expense, now  However, it was really good of you to do all the look-up for me.

Most sincerely...Gatacre

Hi,

How about this couple for the parents of John Hickman TURNER,

Marriage

Enoch TURNER    Jun Q 1865    Ulverston    8e  834
others with same ref;
Samuel AFFLICH
Ellen HICKMAN
Jane TROTTER

In 1871 Samuel and Jane AFFLECK are living with mother-in-law Jane TROTTER so it looks like Enoch TURNER did marry Ellen HICKMAN :)

Stourbridge and Lye Waste were in Old Swinford parish,

Wha ta great find.  You are brilliant . I shoule have learned by now to look in Ulverston and Dalton  for those who were migrating to Barrow which was a new town and many peoplewent there from all over the country.  My two sets of grandparents were also incomers but I left in WW11 and lived in many palces only to end up near my home town,

I cannot thank you  enough and all the other Roots Chatters  who are so unstinting with their help.

Most sincerely

Gatacre :) :) :) :)

OK, it appears to me that we have the same ancestors and i can possibly shed some light on this topic for you. Within this part of the tree there are no less than 3 John hickman Turner's. The John H. (stands for Hartshorne) Turner b.1858 to which you refer too in your earlier posting is ancestor to them all. Please supply an email that i can send you a screen dump on and I'll attempt to help.

I did find a person who lived not far from me and he had already done that part of the tree.  He sent what he had.

I was doing this for a relative of mine but thank you for your offer .  It was most kind

Glad that you got this sorted 'Gatacre'. i would be most interested in contacting the relative that you were doing this for, in order that i can swap / share informatin with them, if that is still possible?

Kind regards, Turner1968
