Thank you Seahall, nice to hear from you again. I have not been on this board for a while but I have been looking occasionally. I have since invested in 4 discs which have helped no end, a few certificates and I try and spend every Thursday afternoon and early evening at the records office and I have made quite a lot of progess since. cheers Richard

Hi Richard  :)

Nice to see you posting again and all the help being given for your request.

Thursday is always a good day at the Record Office because of the late evening
hours. Especially if you ring in advance for items to view.  :)

Haven't been for a good couple of years myself.  :(

Spent a couple of hours only at the Main Northampton Library tonight just before
it closed for a month.

I had to get the last bit of research in.  :)

Sandy

I only just came across this.
A further suggestion for you ( I haven't checked it out) Elizabeth VERNON is a likely one for you.
John VERNON mar Phoebe JOHNSON in Guilsborough c 1790's (I think sorry notes not to hand). John was a carpenter. They used the middle name Johnson for some of their children (including a Phoebe)(wrongly recorded as SURNAME Johnson in PRs and can be found on IGI with Johnson Surname in Guilsborough/Cold Ashby).
Elizabeth's father John was a wheelwright according to the marriage record- quite possible for the son of a carpenter? I do NOT have the names of all Phoebe and John Vernons children but you might like to check it out- they were a Guilsborough family, I have found William and Phoebe only on IGI. John jn could be son of William- I have found bp for Elizabeth VERNON d John and Frances 1828 which woul fit your Betseys age.
Not sure if the link is quite right but the Fanny Johnson one respondant referred to ? If that is a marriage in Guilsborough in 1846 she is my GGGM she married Joseph Knight of Little Houghton. She was the daughter of Timothy and Elizabeth Johnson of Guilsborough. Timothy was the youngest brother of Phoebe Johnson who married John Vernon. I have further details on the Johnson family of Guilsborough if you can establish a connection.
