Very frustrating; the Dublin blacksmith mention kills of my trail as Captain John Kennedy was definitely the army paymaster and probably in a Highland regiment as the Kennedies I am folllowing are originally from Argyllshire.

Hi James Unst

I know it was a long time ago, but I am hoping you are still reading this chat. I believe I am descended from the Duncan Kennedy you mention through his son Duncan Downie Kennedy (brother of Charles Walker Kennedy??). That Duncan emigrated to Qld Australia and was my great grandfather.  If you think this might be a real connection, I would love to find out anything you know about the Kennedy family from the late 1700s early to mid 1800s.

Many thanks
Leith
