I Am Trying To Find Juliana's Maiden name, She Was married To Thomas Wakefield.

They Were Married Around 1800 - 1820 In Derby?

They Had 6 Children..

Thomas Wakefield... born - 1837
John Wakefield
Edwin Wakefield
Richard Wakefield
Juliana Wakefield
Mary Ann Wakefield
(Not In Order)

They Used To Attend The St Mary's Gate Chapel In Derby?

Their Adress Was Spring Roads, Normanton Road?

They Also Lived In Chester Sometime In Their Life..

I Really Want To Find Out Juliana's Maiden name..

Can Anyone Help?

Hi

Juliana in the Census 1841 to 1881 - all in Chesire -  is consistent with being born about  1797 in  Ripley, Derbyshire. All children stated born in Derbyshire.

The birth certificate of the youngest child, Mary Ann abt 1839, or Thomas if he was registered from the Sep Qtr 1837 onwards, should provide Juliana's maiden name.....

However, there is a tree on A****ces**ry with this family in it.  It gives Juliana's  maiden names as CARWITHEN, and her parents as:    John CARWITHEN(b 1762) and Sarah GETLIFFE (b1764 - died 1838), with siblings named Martha b 1788 and John b 1794.

The tree doesn't include a son of Thomas & Juliana named Richard (who also doesn't appear in the census) with them either, but perhaps he was either older and moved on by 1841, or died young?

Edwin WAKEFIELD b abt 1823 Derby
Richard WAKEFIELD
John WAKEFIELD b abt 1826 Derbyshire
Juliana WAKEFIELD b abt 1831 Derby,
Thomas WAKEFIELD b 1837 Derby
Mary Ann WAKEFIELD b abt 1839 Derby

http://www.pentrich.org.uk/html/surnames.a-z.html
Pentrich Historical Society (Ripley is in the Parish of Pentrich)
A researcher is listed as connected, inquiring abt John CARWITHEN b 1794 - who, from the above references, may be Juliana's brother.

Cheers

If you search the IGI for CARWITHEN, all, in Derbyshire - there is:\ among them:
CHRISTENING: Juliana CARWITHEN chr 14 Aug 1796, Pentrich, father : John CARWITHEN

And :
MARRIAGE: Juliana CARWITHIN and Thomas WAKEFIELD, 15 Aug 1822, Saint Werburgh, Derby

Both are extracted records.

This is probably her brother in 1841:
HO107 /  Piece 199 /  Book: 3 /  Folio: 14 /  Pg 23
1841: Orchard St No. 2, Parish of St Alkmund, Derbyshire
John CARWITHIN 45, Tailor
Ann CARWITHIN 35
George CARWITHIN 15
Appolinah CARWITHIN (female), 15, Silk Winder
Juliana CARWITHIN 13, F.S.
Ann CARWITHIN 6,
Mary DAWSON 60
ALL born Derbyshire

hello, thanks for the information you have given me.
i found out yesterday that he was married too rebecca brewin i thought i was on the right track for a couple of weeks now but needed to confirm this which i have now done . his first wife went with him to ribe (near mombasa)
were she had a daughter called rebbeca nellie wakefield and then they had another child who died so did his wife but i think it was from some sort of fever can let you know for definatley later, so his daughter was sent back to england and he followed much later thats when he met esther sussanah sommers and married and she went with him too ribe for 5 years. this is all mentioned in a book that i found on line called the memoirs of rebbeca wakefield written by her brother. there is also a biography of thomas wakefield and the author is e.s wakefield at the latter day saints on micro fiche but i do not live near a latter day saints so may never know what is said about him, he was a remarkable man i feel he served for 27 years in kenya and was known as bwana wakfili .
there is lots of information about him too much for me too write i could send you the links i have found so you can have a look if you like?

can i just confirm
leonard john wakefield was the son of esther sommers and thomas wakefield?

hope to hear from you soon
