Family by Name of Chaillon in Channel Islands?
« on: Saturday 04 April 09 10:45 BST (UK) »
I would like to enquire whether anyone has ever seen any reference to a family by the name of Chaillon having lived in the Channel Islands during the 1800s or earlier?  I had a great-grandfather named Francis Arthur Chaillon (born ~1862) who reportedly came from the Channel Islands.  However, the only reference I've ever seen to a Chaillon living in the Channel Islands was a privateer named William Chaillon who was based in Guernsey around the year 1710.  Much appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Best regards,
CM
