Hi Anne,
I made a mistake when I wrote about Janet Livingstone.  Livingstone was her maiden name.  Must correct it.

I am replying to my own post about Janet Livingstone.  Livingstone was her maiden name not as I intimated Henderson.

Hi Angela

I'm assuming she married a Henderson?

If so this death record could be her

1898 HENDERSON JANET  nee LIVINGSTON  Died aged 71 TRADESTON GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/13 0044 . If this death cert is the right one then parents were Robert and mum Janet Walker. Robert was a weaver. (happy to send if you PM me your email). I can't post cert in here cos of copyright.

However this birth record could be her (Eastwood is in Abbey parish - or was at that time)

Born 17/09/1826 LIVINGSTONE JANET Parents JOSEPH LIVINGSTONE/JANET CUMMING  Abbey /RENFREW 559/ 0060 0224

Do you know when she married? (We might be lucky and find her on the 1841 census with her parents)

David Livingston certainly was from not far away. Blantyre and Eastwood are very close together.

Lastly what a fantastic portrait!

Best Wishes

Ann
