James,Jane and Mary Jane SCOTT
« on: Thursday 09 April 09 06:23 BST (UK) »
I am searching for a James Scott and his wife Jane who were buried at Rookwood,Sydney,NSW in 1832 and 1834 respectively. He came to Aust in the military in early 1800's.His daughter was Mary Jane who married Gardiner Baker in the Bahamas/Nassau in 1822.She is also buried at Rookwood in 1841.
Where do I go for more info on them?
Thanks,Carolyn

Have you checked the Australian Resources > NSW Resources at the top of the board?

they wouldn't be originally interred at Rookwood for those dates.
Rookwood didn't come into existence until the 1860's
More likely, if you think they are at Rookwood, that they were re-interred at a later date when the Devonshire Street Cemetery was demolished to make way for Central Railway Station.
The re-interment registers are kept at Kingswood Archives.

Alternatively they may have been buried at the Old Burial Ground that was around Town Hall Station.
