][/color] Hi Frosty,
I have only just discovered your message about Alex Woods Neilands that you posted in April. I am amazed to find someone who belongs to the same family as me, after years of searching. John Hay McKenzie Neilands was one of my great, great grandfather's.

Be pleased to hear from you,
Best regards

My name is Clive Alexander Wood Neilands,I just typed in Alexander Wood Neilands, the name of my grandfather who was born in Musselburgh 1920 26th july.Any relation to the Alexander Wood Neilands you are referring to?
His father fought in the 1st world war from 1914 to 1918 and his father,Sandy(short for Alexander),was an engineering lecturer at the university of Edinburgh. He later became chief engineer at a wire mill.
Alexander Wood Neilands

Hi there

my wife is also descended from the Neilands family, and I have done extensive research into their origins. If I can help in any way with your enquiries I would be glad to do so.

I had correspondence a few years ago from a lady (Jean) who had a mother with a Jarvie name. Is there a connection?

regards

Peter

Hi Jarvie,

If I am correct then I have already been in contact with your sister, Jean, several years ago. My wife's great grandfather (Alexander, 1838-1895) and your great grandfather (John Hay McKenzie Neilands) were brothers.

I have traced the Neilands line, (through many variations in spelling!) back to a man born c 1730.

I am also able to place the descent of another contact (cliveawn) into the same family, if he is interested.

I would be very pleased to exchange information on my wife's descent for that of yours, and any relevant photograps would be a real bonus

regards

Peter
