Birth whereabouts please on John Webb c 1795 Shropshire and his wife Mary (possible Moore) c 1800

I know they moved to Otley, Yorkshire where they had several children, one of whom was my great great grandmother Amelia.

No mention of the parents though on censuses only older siblings.

John was alive in 1850 at time of daughter's wedding. Occupation Rakemaker/Ropemaker

I have reason to believe that Mary died c 1840

These two are a great mystery to me.

Hello,
he may well have died before his daughter's marriage - it seems to happen regularly that 'deceased' is not added to father's details.
There is a death 1840 for John Webb, Otley. :(

Is there really? Well I wonder if he and his wife died together somehow then.

It certainly seems as if the eldest daughter Elizabeth was left to bring up the rest of the family on further censuses.
