Thanks Sue...he probably has all this anyway.

I have searched on
http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/index.php

Not all Counties online as yet, however Country Antrim is.

No results for birth of Walter McKINNIN.  You have to register to search and pay to view record.

Cheers

 Still sleuthing,,

I found a reference to a JOHN MCKINNIN in an old Bailey case in 1873 he was aged 18 and found not guilty. Certainly the right age to be a possble candidate for a father and he was working on ships.

http://www.hrionline.ac.uk/ccc/browse.jsp?path=sessionsPapers%2F18731215.xml and used the surname to locate the entry.
also a voyforums entry looking for Walter McKinnin voyage 1900-1935 from Scotland to Ireland, submitter was a John McKinnin

Hi all;
Very many thanks for all your efforts; very much appreciated indeed.
I checked also; finding age of Walter McKIMMIN to be 2 & 1/2 yoa and was interested in that it was a Scottish Ship; but unfortunately; as found; tis not my Walter McKINNIN.
Just to recap:
Walter McKINNIN said b) 10 Apr 1900, Belfast, Ireland.
Marriage Cert of 1942, Sydney; has him 28, would make him b) 1914; F) John McKINNIN (Engine driver) M) Mary KELLY, but; no record of birth Belfast, Ireland 1900-1914.
Walter said he came out to Australia when 13 & later when 16; lying about his age and that he jumped ship?
It's also said he was on a farm with a brother in Western Australia for a time?
Deaths for Walter & Dorothy Ann McKINNIN are Step father & my Mother.
Interested in Joy's findings Sunday 12 re John McKINNIN & the Old Bailey, also metion of John McKINNIN looking for entry re Walter McKINNIN voyage from Scotland to Ireland 1900-1935; sounds like my brother John McKINNIN?
Many thanks to you all.
Robert
