I have Branton Presby baptisms up to 1837

Hi, do you have anything for a Rev. John Clarke at Branton Presbyterian Church?

I have this from the 1662-1812 Register:
- 28 Aug 1786 Mary Ann,d. Revd. John and Elizabeth Clarke, Hedgley
- 3 March 1788 Elizabeth, d. Rev. John and Elizabeth Clarke, Hedgley,
privately.

Hedgley seems to have been just across the road , found this:

No more found from John Clark/e and Elizabeth .  Lots of Clarks, many to the schoolmaster William Clark and wife correction IsabellaIsabella Thompson of Callay

Oh that's very interesting. Occam's razor strikes again, have been complicating things a bit too much. Do you have dates for the school master and Elizabeth Thompson? I think those Clarks hold the key to research around the Branton area; also Edlingham, Ellingham, Whittingham, Alnwick.

Thomas Thompson Clark, baptised 20 Nov 1827 second son of William Clark, Schooolmaster at Whittingham, Native of Norham Parish, bhw Isabella Thompson Native of Callaly MIll, born 9 Nov

Elizabeth Maria Clark third daur [but noted that she is the 5th in the margin as #4 born 3 Jun 1821 baptised 16 May 1822 d/o William Clark, Schoolmaster at Whittingham native of Norham Par. BHW Isabel Thompson native of Callaly Mill. Born 21 Apr

Isabella Clark baptised 3 Jan 1821  same family partuculars.  Born 21 Dec 1820

George Clark baptised 17 Apr 1817 First son, s/o William Clark, Schoolmaster at Whittingham, of Norham Par. BHW Isabel Thompson, Native of Callaly Mill, Born 1 Apr

Eleanor Clark baptised 8 Jun 1815 third daughter, rest was the same as others, born 8 Jun

Mary Clark baptised 30 May 1811, noted as first daughter of William Clark, Schoolmaster, same info as above born 16 May 1811

Been a great help, thanks. I see now how these Clark's link back to the Norham area. Was having trouble understanding the link to the border areas such as Norham, Cornhill, Ethall, and Berwick. Going back, they must have been Scottish.

If/whenever you have time, I can see a William Ritchie on Family Search, baptised at Branton Presbyterian 10 Jan 1827, parents Richard Young and Eleanor Ritchie.
