Hi,
I will pop this marriage up as it is the only one listed which comes after his discharge. .......Meaning if he was married on enlistment, wife would be Next of Kin

KERR  GEORGE E.  PERTH  2317  M  1948  TREGEAR  OLIVE M.

The initial  E. in may rule this man out.

Sue I hope you don't mind me adding the url for the marriage

http://www.openwindows.com/marriage/search.htm

An earlier marriage could be George's ie pre-enlistment, if his wife had died prior to him signing up. :-\

Cheers
Cando

Hi cando,

 No, add away ;D

I had a look in the WA post office diretories online searching for KERR of JARDEE.
In 1941 there were about 12 people listed in the town and KERR was not showing, which of course does not mean he wasn't there.
There seems to be mixture of farming, orchards and a saw mill.

Do you know, csc if any of these would fit his background?

Hi

My Grandfather was George Kerr born 16 January 1897 I  Collin, Dumfries.

He immigrated to Western Australia after being discharged from the army on 2 December 2024.  He re-enlisted for WWII whilst living in Australia and was discharged on 27 June 1943. I  have all of his original discharge papers and a few other documents.

George married Anne Cooke on 19 December 1945 and is survived by his only child David Kerr (my father).

George passed on 1 September 1977. He never returned to Scotland or left Western Australia after his arrival.

His discharge was December 1924 not 2024.
