 You have Arthur's birthdate as 2nd Feb... and the year as 1906 ?

Does this mean you have his birth certificate?


There was another Arthur Simpson, born 1900, son of James and Jane Simpson of Windmill road, South Shields ? Still there on 1911 census.

I notice you have posted both your queries on this family on the Northumberland board- although South Shields was in County Durham - definitely not a hanging offence, but you may be missing out on the knowledge of Durham Chatters !

Thanks for that i will post on other board.  I havent got his cert but my aunt told me his birthdate from his death notice she still has.  It was definately 2nd Feb.
