Tracing a family in Sussex

My friend has relatives who went to Worthing Sussex sometime after 1935 and settled.They were James Brown and his wife Mary Ann (nee) Truby,and they had thirteen children up to 1934,when they were still in London.
 We are trying to trace the family from 1940 up to date.We were wondering is there any way of accessing records for families in this area from 1940 .
