You then ask one of the nice people here to clean it up and it comes out looking like this
Mills - Twickenham (Middlesex) and Lavenham (Suffolk),.............. Baillie, Coster, Welham  again Middlesex
Parmenter - Lavenham

Much depends on the quality of the negative/image.  I have had quite a few that were awful.

like a lot of things it is all down to luck.

Hi  :)

It all depends on the type of scanner you have and if the negatives are large format or the more usual 35mm ones.

Many scanners have carriers/adaptors for the 35 mm ones but the larger format ones have to be placed on the scanner bed itself.

If you look at the first few posts on this thread, you'll see what we did.

Make sure that you have as clean a neg as possible - as you would if you were printing it in an old style darkroom.
