I found a fred sept 1906 and Olive Dec 1903, which could be other siblings,

Claude seems to be the right one as there was only this sweeting family in the area at the time.

so the marriage had to have taken place between 1901 and 1903 to a women Ford. that cant be found lol...

A little summary - we seem to have three Edwards, so I have numbered them.

Please tell me if I have this right!

Edward Jenkin SWEETING (II) b 2 Sept 1866 Llantwit, son of Edward (I) and Margaret (IGI)

1901 census unmarried (if correctly reported by his landlord) in Barry

Marriage Dec q 1896

Edward SWEETING (II?) and probably Mary Jane JONES (freebmd)
Mary not found in census.

Births (all Bridgend)

Edward SWEETING (III) Mar q 1905, poss son of Edward and Mary Jane

Mar 1908 Reginald - ditto?

Dec 1911 Claude mmn FORD - Edward II would be pretty old by now - who are his parents?

Then later

Edward (III) presumably marries Edna HUGHES

Birth

Jun 1929  Lionel J mmn HUGHES

Plus the ones you just found.

yes

claude is def a brother of Edward, Reginald, Garfiled and Lionel as family members (noels Wife) can remember them.

Edward 3rd marries Edna May and had about 11  children of which I only have 3 at the moment

But looks as though Lionel 1929 was also an older brother.

Aah, that makes sense if there's a third Edward!

Edward I death reg
Edward Sweeting 76 june qtr 1911 Bridgend vol 11a pg 431

His baptism also on IGI 12/6/1835 son of William & Mary same batch as before

I've found some Sweeting burials
Edna May 1975
Edward (III) 1980
Mary Jane age 70 in 1941 in Llantwit Major.

Think I'd go for a birth cert that you're sure of to find out the mother - Edward 1905 for instance.

meant to say as well that I've got a relative enumerated as a single lodger in one census when he is most definitely married. I don't think you should rely too much on details given by the head of household for lodgers and boarders. The head may not worry about getting exact details.
