marriage between 1901-1904

I do not have his birth cert, but he was the son of Edward and Margaret and did have a siter Mary jane born 1871.

It was his son also an Edward b 1904 that married Edna May Hughes, in my first post I said that Edward 1904 was the first Child but he may not have been,

The marriage in 1896 am not sure of, as in the 1901 he is shown has single? if he had married and his first wife had died would he not be shown as Wid. he would then have to have maried again for the child edward to be born 1904.  buying Edwards birth cert of 1904 would  answer for sure, or like said waiting until the wales 1911 census comes on line this summer..

So, the birth in question is Edward SWEETING registered March 1905?

Yes that cert would help!

Do you have any information about this Edward's siblings - especially later ones?  How do you know Edna's maiden name was HUGHES?  There is no matching Edna in Wales in 1901 - not unmarried, anyway!

What else do you know - throw it all in!!

Edna May Hughes was born 6 Sep 1910 daughter of Catherine Hughes (unmarried) so would not appear in the 1901 census she married Edward sweeting b 1904. Catherine Hughes b 13 May 1873 aberdare, daugher of John Hughes 1848/50 and Sarah Evans b 1851

I am told that Edward 1866 and his wife had about 12 children.

but that does not expline how Claude could marry in 1911 if his father was single in 1901, so has confused me,

Sorry Spencer - I didn;t put the crucial word in!  The references I quoted are all births.

These are presumably brothers to Edward b 1904.  Except the Lionels - one of which is presumably Edna HUGHES son with Edward b 1904.

Shame they kept using the same names all the time, it is confusing!

lol i miss read your post and that was claude birth 1911 which would fit.
