Sorry to be pedantic, did you manage to download the patch?

Yes, and followed instructions on Ancestry- end of which said to check it had installed by looking at version number- and it didnt seem to work. have retried by uninstalling FTM-as they suggested- and reinstalling. but nothing!!

Mmmmm...

Let's recap:

You run the patch as administrator but it did not take as you do not have version 17.0.0.965. showing.

You then uninstalled / reinstalled

Presumably you ran the patch again as administrator and it did not take again?

As I say sorry to be pedantic - but computers are  :o

not pedantic at all--  thats what I did, and I have just tried to run the patch thingy with FTM as administrator, and i have the FTM "application initialising"  thing up and running--but it wont go away!!!
