McFaul's in Larne
« on: Wednesday 15 April 09 23:50 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm only a newbie so forgive me if this is confusing or incorrect.
I'm researching my family tree and my father's side of the family is pretty much all from Larne. I've managed to go back as far as Denis McFaul (sailor) who married Ellen McAdorey (servant) March 1864 in St MacNissi's in Larne. I can't find their birth dates but they were both of full age when they got married and their father's were Daniel McFaul, Quay Lane, Larne and James McAdorey, Larne. Can anyone help me get past this stumbling block?

hi akanex2
thanks for the link unfortunately I've already used that site dry and it only goes back as far Ellen and Denis  :(
I've checked what remains of the 1851 census in Larne and can't find Daniel or his familiy and without a birthdate it's hard to find more about Denis.

Old Families of Larne book, there was a Rev James A McFaul who was the Bishop of Trenton N.J. U.S.A  (A stands for Augustine this from another gravestone) b. 1850 d. 1917 of Rory's Glen Kilwaughter this is from a partial incription from the gravestone in St Macnacissi's RC section of McGarel cemetry in Larne. His parents were James and Mary Hefferman McFaul he was also baptised in this same church. There appears to be no further gravestone records for this name in this Parish at this time, you might want to validate further.

@gopher82
If you've done your DNA you're related to William Longmore. Get in touch with him as he has done a lot of research on the McFauls.
Who was the most recent McFaul in your lineage?
