smuin7,
I think Robert/Catherine( Kate) earlier registered the birth of a "John W Foster", within Morpeth Registration District ( this reg.district covered North Seaton, Pegswood, Choppington and much more) in the June Qtr of 1915.
Unfortunately the death of a " John W Foster", aged 0 yrs, was registered with Morpeth Reg District, also in June Qtr of 1915. ( Catherine/Kate's father was John William Foster, coal miner) - is this confirmed on marriage cert ?
On registration records I can see the birth registrations, in Morpeth RD, for George William Wilson, Dec Qtr 1916
Mary Wilson, Sept Qtr 1918
Elizabeth Foster June Qtr 1921
( Although the above registrations record the children's mother's maiden name - Foster- this name was not including in the actual names of the children)
Catherine Tench* Foster and the Barnfathers were in Choppington, Bedlington, on the 1911 census
* transcribed as "Teach"
In what church did the 1914 marriage take place ? Was Catherine aged c21 yrs ?
I know your main target is the parents of Robert Wilson, but as you may have already surmised, getting a solid fix on a "Robert Wilson, son of John Wilson", even with his birth year c1886, and the Wilson's occupations, is not easy.
Into long shots, clutching at straws etc... I came across a couple of deaths within US coal mines and found that the newspaper obituaries brimming with personal and family info, including UK details. Can you maybe try this avenue ?
On the theme of coal mining, I looked fatalies in mines here in this UK area.
A John T Wilson aged 47 was a fatality in North Seaton pit accident 0n 23 Mar 1911. He died 17 May 1913 ( This sourced from info on mining web site..
www.dmm.org.uk ) His civil death registration, June Qtr 1913 @ Morpeth RD, records his age at death as 45.
Is Robert's father , John, annotated as deceased on the marriage certificate ?
