The SAMWAYS surname

Hi everyone,
Is anyone else researching the SAMWAYS surname?
My great-great grandparents Philip John and Ellen SAMWAYS nee ISHERWOOD/GREEN moved to Sydney c1901 with their 4 children.
1 child passed away on 1902 and a child was born the same month.
They then returned to NZ at the end of 1902.

Philip John had other family members over there but I am unsure of their names.

He was the son of Henry and Alice SAMWAYS formely HUTCHINSON nee BROWN. And was born 1866 in Auckland, NZ.

Henry was from Marylebone, England.

I would love to make contact with relatives.

Maybe not.
His death notice in the Sydney Morning Herald says he was born in England

"formerly of Sheffield, United Kingdom " And he was 78.  Too young to be a brother.

Thank you for your message. It is quite possible that Albert Victor is the son of my Henry and ALice.
I will have to do some more research on him.

5018/1977 SAMWAYS Harold Stanley, Father Henry Mother not listed

On the 1936 Electoral roll at
Melrose Ave, Sylvania are

Dorothy SAMWAYS dressmaker.
Albert SAMWAYS french polisher
and Henry Victor SAMWAYS dairyman

Unfortunately no second names given for Albert and Dorothy so not sure if this is Albert whose death is given above by sparrett

Ryerson index has a death notice for Albert Victor (Vic) SAMWAYS '"ate of Hurstville, formerly of Sheffield UK", died 2 May 1976, notice in Sydney Morning Herald 3 May 1976.  This looks like Albert Victor found by sparrett so perhaps not related to your family.
