hi again ....elizabeth mensforth nee dunster  married william kent  1880 in victoria ...thanks to the girls today that answered my request on elizabeth mensforth,  but now im really curious about william kent  born sussex england  died victoria ......could i have a death search for william as well , and who is parents are ...thanks all  cheers lyn

Not as simple as Elizabeth but feel  this is a strong possiblity

KENT  Wm died aged 69 in 1905 at Adra (same place as Elizabeth)
father and mother unknown reg no 7469.

You  would need  to  purchase a copy  of  the marriage certificate  to  get  his parents and birth place etc.

I  checked  his Will  but  no  digitilasied copy  only the probate records  and  to me  they don't seem  to say  who his heir was.

On the Australian Electoral Roll for Victoria 1903, William KENT is the only KENT at his address at Alexandra.  No Elizabeth at all on the roll for Alexandra.

Wm KENT who died in 1905 was 68 years of age ie b.c1837

There is a submitted record for a birth in 1837

Dec 1837      Southease, Sussex, England
Father     James Kent    
Mother     Elizabeth Bartholomew

and

Births Dec 1837 
KENT  William Wimble   Hastings 7/258

Hi Lynie

I  have a Wm KENT b. c1837 with his family in Southease, Sussex on the 1841 census and as a farm bailiff still in Southease, Sussex in 1871.  Father James, Farmer and Mother Elizabeth.  I can't find him on the 1881 census so if I have the right Wm. he would be in Aus by then.

This could be him arriving Melbourne...however the ship sailed from New Zealand

KENT William36 years  Arrived Melbourne Apr 1878    on the Arawata Port B  Fiche 155 Page 003.

The marriage cert would be needed to ensure I have found the correct William KENT.

It's OK Jenn ...the age is fairly crucial as there was nothing  for 1836 and as civil reg commenced Sep 1837 and there was a birth...I re-checked the death index.

Need that marriage cert to validate info...and death cert would/should show Elizabeth as his wife.

Wonder why PROV only digitised the Probate record and not his Will.  Need a visit to PROV to read the Will.
