Mystery marriage - help please!

Thanks both of you! I did see the marriage in St Geo Hanover sq and wondered if Elizabeth had been married before but couldnt find that previous marriage. It looks promising though - as you say, the first child is very often born in the marriage vicinity, and I do believe george and family went back to Northumberland very soon after.
The English naming pattern seems to fit if Robert seniors father was a George also dont you think Michael?
I've given up the idea of going to bed - its light here now!!

Might be worth putting a mini-tree on there and waiting for a 'hot match'

 Yes, if the couple were following the children-naming conventions of the day, first son = his paternal grandad
second son = maternal grandad
third son= his father

This COULD indicate that a child was born between George-Robert ( tight squeeze ? ) but did not survive.   OR a longer shot that Elizabeth's father was also called Robert. Did they have later children ?

Have you her roots in Lanchester, Co Durham ?

Yes Michael, she was from Lanchester. I dont know of any other children born to her and Robert at all. I just went onto genes and found a couple of people with the family on their tree - one has answered and Roberts parents were george and Isabella, but no surname for isabella. Still, its a great start and I'm very grateful for the help you and Pauline have given me - thanks a million!
Time for breakfast now - or did I forget supper somewhere along the way???
