me again, found another relative that went to Australia, New South Wales. John Colquhoun b. about 1811-1815 in Kilmallie Argyle. \he sailed on the vessel Stamboul and arrived 31/10/1854, that's all I know, not much. I'm hoping you might be able to help me again. Regards Heaross

Do you have his parents' names?

You could search here for his death.

I am not having any luck with BMD's for this family in NSW.  :-\

Looking at the Scottish 1841 and 1851 I note John has certainly underestimated his age as he is 45 in 1841 and 55 in 1851. Also IGI has a submitted entry for John 15 Feb 1795 Corry, Kilmallie - parents John Colquhoun and Sarah Rankin. Sarah is with them in 1841 so this all looks right but quite removed from your age estimate of 1811-1815 Heaross  :-\

Don't know what happened Kris :-\  Found this marriage, births and possible death of the wife.  Pressed post and there was a long stall and nothing.  Oh well.  Get back to it later....office work is waiting ;)

Cheers

Ahha there is another John Colquhoun on the Stamboul. I had missed him.  :-[

Age much better and fits with what Cando has located. Wonder if they were connected. Looks like silly me has wasted a lot of time on the wrong family  ::)

COLQUHOUN John 38 farm Lab b Kidmalen Argyleshire parents Duncan and Catherine mother residing at (Caplesh)? He could read and write and was in good health

Kris  :)

Don't you just hate that Cando. Usually I find they have posted after the down time but sometimes.  ::) Pity you lost all that work. Can't really say enjoy the office work.  ;D
