John SINCLAIR - Passenger Records
« on: Friday 24 April 09 05:27 BST (UK) »
Will someone please look up the passenger list for john SINCLAIR.
Going from his death certificate i think he arrived in Australia between 1910 and 1912 from Scotland,
and his previous address in Scotland might have been 105 Rosebery Street Lochee Dundee
He was born 1861 if that helps.

Thanks

Hi,

Do you have any idea where he would have arrived? Did his family travel with him? If so can you please provide names and ages. This is quite a common name and a lot of unassisted passenger lists do not even provide ages, often only an initial. I fear there will be many J/John Sinclairs appearing on passenger lists.

Cheers Kris  :)

Hi Kris

On John's death certificate it says he spent 2 years in Queensland and 28 in NSW. He owned property in NSW in the 1920s and died in North Sydney 1941. I would guess he may have arrived in Queensland first on the propect of a job.

His son Donald arrived in NSW 1921 and his wife Christina  and Daughter Alexandrina 1922 which i have records of.

Cheers Scot

Hello,

have you had a look at the QLD recods: http://www.archives.qld.gov.au/downloads/Indexes/immigration

there is aare seveal John Sinclairs in the time fame and one real possibility est dob 1864 not spot on but quite close. Ages in immigration recors are often inaccurate,

regards

Robyn
