What did Moses do for a living?

Can anyone read the occupation for Moses Millard in the piece of marriage certificate please?

Hm, yes.  I thought it might be Iron Greaser, but I confess I don't know a lot about the iron trade.

I too read the second word as Greaser.  I had no idea what the first word was but think Screw is slightly more likely than Iron.

Hi

I read 2nd word as definitely beginning with S, and probably in full as Shearer. The S is the same as other "S" on page as in  "M.S".

Don't see the first word starting in "S", nor ending in "w" - I think it's ending is "ron" and though less clear, probably the first letter is a swirly "I" = Iron.

After deciding that was my take  :P  ;D found him on the 1881 Census:
RG11 /  Piece: 2962 /  Folio: 92 /  Page: 48  - Harborne Staffs.
And he is listed as a Shearer Iron.
On the same page are other folk with similar trade jobs. Another man is listed as an Iron Shearer, a woman is listed as a Screw Wormer.
