I'm new at this so pls forgive any errors I make.
I know that your offer was given some time ago but would you still be willing to photograph a headstone in Karrakatta Cem.? I'm related to Henry Browning who is buried in Sec. FC.... Gravesite 0051....  Roman Catholic....died 14/11/1905. Thank you in advance.
Applemarg.

Hi Applemarg,

A big welcome to RootsChat  ;D

Sorry for the delay. I have trying to find out if all is well with Kimberley and have not heard back as yet. I have now split your post from the offer thread and moved it to the main Australia Board. I do hope that if Kimberley is unable to help at the moment sombody else may be able to assist you in this.

All the Best..........Kris  :)

Hi Applemarg

And a welcome from me as well ;D  This is a duplicate of another post I did today on the same topic.

I would suggest you contact Karrakatta Cemetery
http://www.mcb.wa.gov.au/contactUs.html
to see if the graves are actually still there.  There has been a program of renewal of some areas.  The headstones of my relatives' graves have been recycled for landscaping purposes.  One of the burials in one grave, was in 1972.  The graves are still there and the new burials are on the paths between the graves. No remains are disturbed.   Hope I have explained that clearly. This is a little info in their brochure.

I cannot find the info the cemetery sent to me some time ago.  It showed the areas that have been renewed and the areas that are on their agenda.  I understand that photographs have been taken off any graves/headstones prior to them being recycled for landscaping purposes.

The cemetery do offer a photo service -
http://www.mcb.wa.gov.au/NameSearch/photoServ.html and I was provided with a photo of one above graves...gratis Wink  Sadly they didn't appear to have a photo of the other grave/headstone.

Cheers :)

Kris and Cando

Thank you for the replies. I will contact the cemetery by e-mail and see if there is a headstone on the grave. If so, I think I will ask them to take a photo. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.
