      Hi, This location, I thought at first, was Windsor.
             
                        Not so sure now..... The 'castle gate' at the top, is a tad to close.

Are you sure it's Britain, the costumes look vey european to me, dutch perhaps  ?

Agree with Bob that the clothing does not look at all English.

The people and many  of the buildings don't look very english either.

Cobbled street - could be english, but even today, many european streets are still cobbled.

Shuttered windows (above the shop the left of the second picture) - could be France, Germany or Italy.
