1911 census

 In researching  my grandfather family  the 1911 cenus  I note the age given for him was 28  this would mean he was borm in 1883 but on his birth certificate the year was given as 1878  also my grandmother age was 26 this put her  to be born in 1885  she was born in 1880 this is on her birth cert can anyone help.

It's not at all uncommon for the wrong age to be put down on census forms. The birth certificate would be more accurate as to birthdate (just beware that sometimes a child was named after an older deceased sibling with the same name).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

 thank you for your reply  the certificate of baptism would be the one to rely on  you see when my brother died in 1992 he was 55yrs  but on his death cert the age given was 65yrs ???

The information on a death certificate is only as good as the informant's knowledge but baptismal records, like any others, can contain mistakes.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

regarding my brother death cert it seem that  the information given by the hospital  was out by five years many thanks for your reply.
