where to get maps
« on: Sunday 26 April 09 10:30 BST (UK) »
Where is the best place to get maps of Galway showing parishes? Can I get Griffiths Valuation maps or something similar? Do I buy them or get them online?
I've seen the individual maps you get for Griffiths but I would like something I could lay out and study distances etc.
Thanks for your help.

there are various maps on the Irish Times website - see this link for RC parishes by county : http://www.rootschat.com/links/065t/

There's no scale given on these maps, but maybe with the layout from these and google maps you could work out the distances etc you need.

thanks for that.
I think I'd really like a proper map I can lay out before me, though. Does anyone know where I can order one?

Try Kenny's Book shop, Galway or Charlie Byrnes Bookshop Galway - both have websites but I cannot trace them at present
