I have some direct ancestors who married in Whatton in 1735. I can find listed on IGI the birth of one child of theirs in Whatton in 1736, then nothing for 10 years, after which other children were born/ baptised at Plungar and Stathern, just over the border in Leic'shire. I know from marriage and death registers that there were other children but I don't know where they were born.

On the Hugh Wallis index, baptism records for Whatton don't start until 1813.

So, in the 18th century, were babies born at Whatton baptised elsewhere or was the baptism registered elsewhere; if so, where?

Thanks in advance :)

Sorry for dragging up such an old thread!

Annie, I am currently researching the Dyers at this time and might have a bit of information if you are still looking? Or maybe you have something that could help my research out?

I can't figure out how to send a message so I hope you see this!

Kate

Hi Kate, you can't send a private message until you've got a minimum of 3 postings; but if you respond on here I'll see it and we can see where we go :)

I really don't have much more info on the Dyers from this era than is already listed above, but lots of Dyer info as we go through the subsequent generations!
