Hi Val,

Ancestry haven't filmed the "R's" yet - only up to N, but here's a copy of Richard Ruttle's medal card.

Interestingly there are some papers in the WW1 "pension" records for another Richard Ruttle who may be a relative.

He joined 4th Battalion Connaught Rangers in November 1915 claiming to be 37 but later admitted that his real age was 62. He was discharged in  April 1916.

He was a tailor, born in Limerick.

Next of kin was his brother Joseph Ruttle, Tailor St, Bolton

Hi Val

This page on the NA website will help you identify the medals in the photograph - http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/medals.asp

If you can get to Kew the best roll to look at will be the one for the Silver War Badge, as this will give his date of discharge, while you are waiting to see if Ancestry will publish his records when they get to the Rs.
