Richard JACKSON arriving Australia
« on: Tuesday 28 April 09 00:12 BST (UK) »
Hi

Where would i look for someone arriving in Australia 1934-6.Maybe NSW
Richard Nobel Jackson,
Elsie May Mudd (Wife)
Geoffrey James Jackson B-21/2/1931 - Geoffrey died in 1996 Perth.
There are no new details on his death cert.

I don't know if there were any other children.
I have Geoffrey's marriage cert 1972 in Western Australia and he states he was born in Essex but can not find a birth for him or a marriage for Jackson and Mudd.
He did a stat dec at his marriage so did not have a birth cert.

Regards Sue

Hello Sue

No mention on the National Archives of Australia site.  I couldn't even see births for Richard and Elsie on FreeBMD - I assume they were born in UK.  Do you have birthdates for them?

If you have a death date for Geoffrey I am happy to have a look for a death notice in Perth newspapers next time I am at the National Library (which may not be till next week).

Cheers, Judith

Hi,

http://www.roll-of-honour.org.uk/Cemeteries/Taukkyan_War_Cemetery/J/html/ja.htm

This link will show you a page on a roll of Honour in Canada which includes a son of RICHARD NOBLE JACKSON killed in 1946 aged 24.  His mother is listed as Mary Maud Jackson.

Another reference to a family tree including RICHARD NOBLE JACKSON (googled)places his birth in Lancashire in 1883 and this, and his marriage, to Mary Maud Brown are shown on Freebmd uk

Now, I don't know if this is your man but there may be someone who can take it further to see if RICHARD NOBLE JACKSON,s wife died etc. before the birth of your GEOFFREY and if he married again to Elsie May Mudd. Possibly in Canada.

Hi,

After looking at the war record I checked freebdm's and between 1900 and 1930

I did some searches in Free BDM with Fathers surname and mother's surname (both Brown and Mudd) and looked at Ulverston births there is one for the deceased son in 1920.

You may find some siblings which may help you along.
I would post on the CANADA board to geven the inforamtion on the war memorial site.

good luck

Robyn
