This is more of a reply to TIFFANEY from the comments of some time ago. I have an old oil sketch of a woman and on the back is a label which reads ' Ann Waterstow, (Though the end 'w' could be an 'n'.) wife of John Fillans Sculptor. 1852'. I am assuming this is the same John Fillans wife she mentions as an 'Ann Waterson' without the extra 'T'. So I was wondering which might be the correct spelling?

Sorry I can't help you with more than I have above re Ann being Waterson.
Suggest you take you sketch into your nearest reputable art dealers to get their opinion - could prove most worthwhile.
Would be interested to hear the outcome please.
regards,
Tiff
