Could anyone please tell me what the Rank or Profession is for Charles Marriott. I just cannot seem to make any sense of it all.

Added: If its the 1914 marriage to Ms Kathy Grimes, then he's too young in 1901 !

I think its Private - R or B M L I (or J), and if I'm right about the 1914 date, I'd guess its a Regiment acronym ?

Hi Genjen and  LKL

I thought the first word was Private.  This marriage was  inFebruary 1914.  Charles was on the 1901 census aged 11 living in Alverstoke.  However, I have found an entry on a later census to say that he might be in barracks as a Lce Corporal 2nd Btn Grenadier Guards - that if of course if I have the right one ho hum.
