Yes, I did wonder about that, because I saw on another entry something that looked like 4 lbs - 6 - 0.  Not sure why someone would have to pay an extra 6/-

So it is "booked" (or something similar) [date] "Consigned 4 lbs" then something still undecyphered, then "Married" [date], then something like "given back"  ???

There is nothing indecipherable between the 4 lbs (short for Scots pounds)  and Married except a full stop

Ooops - reading the first entry of Alexander Cunnigham  ::)

I've downloaded the whole page.

The boo??? is obviously to do with the proclamation of banns on various dates.

Also, the Gi ? ? ? ? could be Given ? to poor or some such phrase

Just looked at the previous page - slightly different script and there is one there where it is clearly 'given back...'  obviously referring to the banns money

I personally would have said the first word on the third line was 'booked' because I have seen it used in Scottish proclamation entries before.  I agree the fourth letter doesn't look like 'k', but ...  It often says 'booked and proclaimed'

Also agree that it is 'consigned', they paid a fee for the proclamations.  The penultimate word on the fifth line is - I think - Given - does it say 'given back'?  Look at the 'v' in November.  The last letter of the next word is the same as in the boo?ed word!

As to the last part, I think that the figure is 23

PS I see someone else has similar thoughts!

Could the word before 23 possibly be 'August'  ???
