Hi Betony,
Have just received Henry Cordials army discharge papers. It is certain now that Henry was born in May of 1796 to Robert Cordial and A. O'Neill. The parish registers also show his siblings as :
1787/7   Cordial, Mary.  Robert    A. O'Neil
1788/6   Cordial,Brid.     Robert   A. O'Neil
1793/12   Cordial, Eliz.     Robert   A. O'Neil
1796/5   Cordial, Henry  Robert   A. O'Neil
1798/7   Cordial, Ann     Robert   A. O'Neil

Therefore his father was Robert Cordial and his mother A. ( possibly Ann ) O'Neill
He was discharged from the army in Halifax Nova Scotia. I understand that you have just received his papers.

I am travelling to Boston, Mass in October and will take a copy to Ruth.

Will now try to make headway with Robert Cordial.

Managed to find all of the army births for Rifle Brigade. They list
Eliza 1832 Corfu also a second listing for her, possible her death in same year.

Have sent for Sarah birth cert. should take 7 days.

These are the ones I know for sure are mine/ours:

James Limerick 1824 (my GG-grandfather)

Mary E. Canterbury 1853.  (Mary Ellen is the above James Sr.'s daughter and James Courts' elder sister). Not sure why there are two listings.

I THINK that the John born in Galway in 1828 is James Sr.'s younger brother.

Violet is sending me the certificate she has that mentions Henry and his wife Elizabeth and their two sons, James and John. I will pass on the info when I get it.

Violet also told me about Genes Reunited and I have started to put a family tree together. I think you are there also, right? Violet mentioned seeing Henry's info there with "Brian" as the contributor so I figured that was you

Hi Beth,
Thanks for the posting. Still trying to fit Sarah's ages together.
Born according to the records in 1842 died on 4. 3 .1883. Age at death 39 years.
Does this gell?

Still looking at the age discrepency born 1842 died 1883.
It states she was 39 at date of death.
This gets me back to 1844 or 1843 not 1842!
