I have an estimated birth year of 1796 and I have found him on the 1851, 1861 & 1871 census. I've no death date for him.
He married Sophia Whitbread on 18 Nov 1822 at Piddington.

Andrew Hillyard natural son of Alice was bapt 14 Dec 1794 in Piddington.

No father mentioned though.

I have a marriage at Piddington, by Banns, for William HILLYARD otp to Mary SHREWSBURY otp on 31st December 1835.   The witnesses were William SMITH and Ann CAMPION, who made her mark.

Andrew HILLYARD had a brother called William (see early post) but I can't be sure this is the same man as I haven't looked into the HILLYARD side of my tree properly yet.

Hello Mary - and others interested in the Hillyard family from Piddington!

I am a descendent from Andrew Hillyard/Sophia Whitbread as well through their daughter Alice who was born approx. 1838 immigrated to Canada in the 1860's.  Last year, I came across a letter that was written by Sophia to Alice in 1865, I will gladly share it with you if you are interested in seeing it.  One cool thing about it is that it refers to the death of US President Abraham Lincoln that had occured 2 weeks before the date stated on the letter.

Any information on Andrew Hillyard and Sophia Whitbread would be greatly appreciated!
