Overton reminds me of my school camp, before the kids went abroad, we went to Overton. It has a hall a couple of farms and a scattering of houses. It was a lead mining area as well.

Skewy.

I think it is part of the parish, as we walked to Ashover church for the service. It is about a mile away on a footpath across a small valley. i'm sure the footpath was called a "Coffin way".

Thanks Skewy, what a good memory you have.

I've just looked Pam on old-maps. It's official name is Salter lane, but on a website of local walks it is called Coffin lane. It was the quickest way to the church before motor vehicles I suppose.
