Hi, Looking for the parents of Mary Ann Ruddock.  All I know about  her is Born C1820 at New Malton, Westmorland.  So not a lot to go on but any help would be appreciated.  Many thanks Pat         Or maybe someone could tell me where the parish records are kept for that area.     COMPLETED Thank you

Hi, Just today found a christening for Mary Ann giving parents as William Ruddock and Jane??  Then looking through my paperwork (I,ve got loads of it )  must get organised, I found the record of Mary Ann and josephs marriage and it states Mary Anne,s father as William.  So have had it all the time.  Sorry if I,ve put anyone out looking for me, hope you,ll forgive me, regards Pat

I am a bit concerned that you are looking in Westmorland for this birth. New Malton is, I believe, in the North Riding of Yorkshire and I think you will find the relevant parish records at NYCRO in Northallerton.

Thanks Jen, Think I,m getting mixed up with her husband who was born in Westmorland.  Geography has always been my very worst subject.  Thanks for putting me straight, regards Pat

That's ok Pat, I have been trying to think of anywhere in Westmorland which sounds like New Malton and I can't come up with an answer. I think New Malton is simply a part of Malton, near Pickering, in the NR of Yorkshire.
