All in the title ... Henry Gordon is the last person in the list where occupations are given. I have left part of the Census (1841) to help (?) with the handwriting.
First 2 letters seem to be Sh and then ???
Hope someone can come up with the answer  ???
Thanks, Annie

Thanks, Jen

I'd thought that could be the answer but he is declared as a mason in 1851  :-\ do you think that this is possible???

Bit of a life style change from mason to showmaker ??? and to make the change in 30/40 age bracket...
I can't figure out what it is...
Jen, is Shoem a recognised abbreviation for shoemaker?

"Shoe M" is a common abbreviation for shoemaker in the 1841 census so I would probably go with that
