Hello Julie

Thanks for your correspondence. Do you have any other pictures? My understanding is that this photo would be about 100 + years old, I can't confirm this so if you can provide any further information I would be most grateful. Are you a 'Clarke' or do you have Clark(e) connections?

Paul

Hi Paul

I am the Granddaughter of Daisy walker nee Clarke. Great Great Gran Daughter of Mary A Moore.
Are you the son of Glad Clarke, who's farther was Herbert Clarke who was my mum's uncle Bill.
We have got a photo of Herbert (Bill) and  Rose his sister. ( my great Aunt and Uncle)
My cousin has traced the family back about to about the 1800's.
The picture would be about that age has my uncle is 90 years old and he was born up there and he as said that he can remember is gran living there, Mary A Moore.

OK Julie, I think we have a connection here. Firstly I am not a Clarke, but my mother is (was!!).  Do you live local to Dean?

Mary Ann Moore is my Great great grandmother. Her fifth child, Ethel Mary Clarke, married her first cousin Bertie Frederick Clarke. They had 4 children; my grandfather Herbert (Douglas) was second eldest. My mother was his third child.

I have Daisy, Herbert and Rose as siblings of Ethel Mary.

Is the photo of the lady seated Mary Ann Moore. I get mixed up as on the other side of my Clarke's line is a Mary Ann Barcock.

I have photos of a soldier (WW1) which I believe is Arthur Maxwell Clarke.

Look forward to hearing from you

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul

Daisy, Herbert and Rose are brother and sisters but not sure if they are the siblings of Ethal May as they had a sister called Ethal (aunt Ett)
Who is your mother.
The lady sitting down in the photo is Mary Ann Moore, She all ways wore a long skirt because she had a club foot.
We have recieved a picture of a solder, if it is the same picture that you have got My mum and Uncle think it is either Jacobe or Edward (Ted).
I do live local to Dean.
The lodge looks like it has been rebuilt.  The two cottages have been pulled down and a new house built in its place, about 22 years ago.

Julie

Julie

My Clarkes are in Chelveston in 1891, Dean Lodge in 1901 and 1911.

I think I have 11 children in total. Father is Frederick b. 1860 Bushmead Beds.

I have Rose born abt 1884,  Ethel Mary b.1889, unknown 1886, George Edward 1893, Jacob 1895, Daisy, 1897, Herbert 1900, Horace 1902, Arthur Maxwell 1904.

I have the actual copy of Ethel Marys marriage to Bertie Frederick Clarke (her 1st cousin) Their residence at time of marriage (14/12/1912) was Dean Lodge.

If you want to send you email address to me at paulrun26 at gmail .  com I'll happily send census extracts that I have as well as the marriage certificate for Ethel Mary.

BTW My mother's maiden name is Diane Clarke.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Paul

Hi Paul

The unknown sibbling could be either Maude, Priscilla or Joseph who we think was the eldest child.
I have managed to see a copy of the 1901 census for Melchbourne.
I will try to send you the picture of uncle Jacobe (Jake) That is who we think it is.
