Thanks - your email just came in after I posted my last. I appreciate this marriage date and this all ties in with the name "Jack" as it keeps repeating here in NZ.

SP now working again for me

Last birth for them in New Monkland seems to be Margaret Jack in 1873

No Ann, Rachel or Mary - Walter and Catherine were 1872

A couple of Marys in Glasgow but $:-\$

They might have moved but without using a lot of credits, I can't be sure.

I ran a check for Rachel 1873-1883 for all Scotland but nothing came up. It might be worth trying to find her approx age from your NZ records.

So unless we can find them on the 1881, I'd say they left sometime after Margaret's birth in 1873 and before 1881.

Open question..... Is Findmypast any good for looking for this one?
I don't have access but think I hear FindMyPast being cited often as a source for passenger lists.

FindMyPast Passenger lists only start in 1890, Dave, so it's not much help. Got Explorer membership

I think The Ships List or some of the Oz/NZ listings on Ancestry might possibly have them.
