   Kearns/Keirans/Kerns/Keeran/Cairns

Timothy Kearns was born in 1871  in Queens County (Laois) , and married Jane Howard from Tyrone. They had 2 sons James Oct 1894 and Timothy Dec 1895, born in Sleaty, Queens County.  They had another son John born in Makerry Tyrone in 1899. They were in Greenock in Renfrewshire in the 1901 census.   I do not know if there are subsequent children born in Scotland.  The family may have changed surname to Cairns, as their son Timothy died in 1955 in the Royal Infirmary in Glasgow under the name James Cairns.   Any of this ring any bells in anyones research?  The spelling variations are a pain but maybe some of the other information will jog some memory.
